I had 3 rounds of antibiotics to kill an infection on my scalp, face and ear……finally the doctor did a “swab” and tested it and sure enough it was MRSA, NO DOUBT in my mind now that i have bedbugs and that’s where the MRSA came from.

Bed Bug infestation @ Super 8 El Cerrito Ca……….Size of ticks, husband had over 125 bites over his bald head, arms swelled up,bites every where face, neck arms and torso legs, and he continued to work, apon coming home i could not believe my eyes or the condition he was in…He went for medical aid. Currently going through an investigation process, as My doctor instructed me to remove carper anything cloth boil it or discard it…My bedding all destroyed from boiling. My carpet couch and bed all to the dump…….This has been a true hardship on my family. As my husband travels to support our family. He has bug phobia over this and so do i…..I am outraged that this has happened and not enough is being done to control this. I have ANOTHER doctor appt tomorrow as i have spiked fevers, blisters on my tongue and feel terrible……..When you go through something like this your victimized by the control of other people.I believe this is turning into MRSA……..Tomorrow i will have a result.

A few years ago I stayed in a Mariott Hotel near the Los Angeles Airport. I got 26 bed bug bites. We were on our way to Hawaii so I didn’t see any doctor and I never did get boils. However, after returning from our holiday, I began getting extremely tired. I was diagnosed with a rare disease, sarcoidosis which some Swedish doctors think is caused by rickettsia, which is carried by ticks, lice and other pests. I wonder now if the sarcoidosis could have been triggered by the bed bugs?
Any thoughts?

I’m not a doctor, but I believe the Weil-Felix test looks for rickettsia (carried by ticks, fleas and lice causing disease). If the test react with OX19, it would indicate a bacterial infection. I’d verify this with your doctor…

My husband and I went to Fort Myers last year a year later I went to Mexico and I became very ill. I went to have a blood work where they did the Weil-Felix test. Please can you tell me what is this. Thanks

Hi, the same thing happened to me where bed bug bites turned into mrsa boils. Ask the doc to swab the spots and send for analysis.

I was on many different antibiotics before any swab was taken – you have to ask for it to be taken. Its really frustrating that for a long time I was being treated for staff and not the mrsa, when a swab would have indicated the correct medicine that was required.

Hi. My wife and I travel to mexico a year ago, we stayed there for two days at a not too nice hotel.both of us got several bed bug bites. my wife healed in about 2 or 3 weeks but I still have the condition but looks very bad, the itch is worst than when new. my doctor prescribed difrent kind of mouth taken antibiotics but nothing works.
Im a desesperate now.
